If you had a chance to look at my portfolio, you certainly noticed some graphic design work under the "Illustration" tab, and some drawings under "Design". That's because I am a generalist with extensive experience in designing a wide range of print and digital materials, and a specialist in illustration. The unity of those two skills allows me to approach each assignment from a unique perspective and to deliver outstanding results.
The organizations I've worked with include government agencies, professional associations, nonprofit organizations, beverage manufacturers, and book publishers. I am a useful person to have on staff because I can work on a spectrum between a clean, minimal style and a highly illustrative one, and I know how to deliver creative solutions while staying on brand. In my last full-time role I was primarily a designer, but offered my employer an opportunity to create professional illustrations in-house when needed.
Last year, I won a Fulbright grant to work on an illustration project in Germany which involved creating illustrations to a series of literary works featuring the real places where those fictional stories take place. Currently I am illustrating a fairy tale collection for kul-ja! publishing house. I am based in Alexandria, VA and available for full-time, part-time, and contract work. Reach out!
